If Mercury is in Jupiter's houses, or with Jupiter, it is considered good. However, if Mercury aspects (1-7, 4-10, or 5-11) Jupiter, then Jupiter becomes imprisoned. If Mercury is in houses 3, 5, 9-12 before the Moon, it may continue to spread its poison, the effect of which can last up to 50 years. If Saturn or Sun are in houses 2, 5, 1, 9-12 (which are fixed houses for Jupiter), then whenever Jupiter enters houses 5, 10, or 11, it may be freed from imprisonment.

- When Jupiter is in houses 1-6 and Mercury is in the subsequent houses, Jupiter may give good effects until the age of 34.
