If a planet is exalted (strong) or in its own house (sign) in your birth chart, you should not donate items related to that planet. For example, if your Moon is in the 2nd or 4th house, you should never donate milk, rice, silver, or pearls.

Similarly, if your Mars is strong, you should not donate sweets. If your Sun is exalted, you should not donate jaggery or wheat.

If your Mercury is strong, you should not donate whole moong beans, green cloth, pens, flowers, mushrooms, or pitchers.

Likewise, if Jupiter is exalted, you should not donate gold, yellow items, or books; if Venus is exalted, you should not donate stitched clothes; and if Saturn is exalted, you should not donate alcohol, meat, eggs, oil, or iron.

Conversely, if these planets are inauspicious or debilitated (weak), you should not donate or accept items related to these planets for free.
